Consolidating 7 roadmaps into one operating system.

Problem

Before joining the Revenue and Financial Management org (RFM), each team was operating on a different roadmap system. There was great opportunity to consolidate 7 models into one operating system to:

  • Bring transparency into each team’s priorities and workload.

  • Give clarity on project updates in an evergreen manner.

  • Connect the dots to any overlapping dependencies.

My Approach

  • Worked with Design Leadership and Individual Contributors to understand what was working well in the current system and the gaps.

  • Got buy in from a Design team of 20 to merge into one operating system.

  • Continuously collected feedback to iterate and improve.

Results

  • Identified a need for a new Design Review program specific for this org.

  • Re-prioritize a team’s workload if there was a new, pressing project.

  • Celebrate the Design work and share out learnings to strengthen the Design org.

  • Cross share important info to broader Design forums.
